About the Recovery Support Worker Role

We are recruiting for Recovery Support Workers to join our Mental Health Intermediate Care service, supporting adults in a time-limited placement to de-escalate crisis or support with other breakdown in their current support arrangements.

You’ll play a vital role in promoting recovery, rebuilding confidence, and supporting people to regain independence in a calm, structured, and supportive environment.

You’ll work closely with the Home Based Treatment Team and other Professional Teams to achieve positive outcomes for individuals throughout their stay at the service.

This is a varied and hands-on role where no two days are the same. You’ll be part of a small, dedicated team working closely with each individual to help them meet their goals and manage their mental health safely.

The role will be extremely varied, here’s a few ideas of what you might get up to:

  • Supporting clients with daily routines and recovery-focused goals
  • Providing emotional support and reassurance in times of distress
  • Encouraging healthy routines such as sleep, meals, exercise and self-care
  • Monitoring mental health and reporting concerns to senior staff
  • Supporting clients with medication (after training)
  • Accompanying people to appointments or social activities
  • Promoting self-confidence and daily living skills
  • Light household tasks and meal preparation

The essentials for a Support Worker are:

  • You will have a kind nature and good communication
  • Good listening skills and a willingness to learn
  • A genuine desire to make a real difference in people’s lives
  • You will need to demonstrate a ‘can do’ attitude, person centred values, energy and commitment to providing an exceptional quality service
  • Full clean driving licence and access to a car is essential
  • Full eligibility to work in the United Kingdom (Sponsorship not Provided)
